Upgrade of pneumatic control for a multi spindle drill unit.
After 30 years of operation this custom-made machine had been showing more and more control failures. Wadcon was thus commissioned to review and upgrade the control unit. It was decided to go for a fully electric drive and control system ran by a PLC. Pneumatic actuators and controls that remained in service were replaced and the mechanicals got overhauled. With new sensors and upgraded safety features the unit is now ready to produce again in accordance to today’s competitive standards.
